A vampire Court needs a Sire.

Nico has uncovered the Shade: a parallel world of darkness, full of monsters, where vampire Courts negotiate territory with lies and betrayal. Dimitri called him Sire, said he belonged here, but Nico is still only human and that makes him fragile in a place where power and strength determine standing. Worse, Dimitri is missing thanks to a witch’s attack, and Nico has bonded with the vampire hunting him in the darkness, giving Nico the beginnings of his very own Court. He’s overwhelmed, he’s far from home, and he needs to learn everything he can about raising power. Fast.

A Sire needs vampires to serve him.

Sebastian doesn’t know what to make of this human Sire he now serves, but the desires they share are irresistible. Sebastian wants nothing more than to bury his fangs—and other things—into Nico to make himself stronger. It may become an addiction. Anything is better than the Court he left behind, but the forces coming after them are unrelenting. Sebastian is only a two-fang vampire, the lowest rank in Court. He doesn’t have the strength to fight, but he will. To protect his Sire.

But the bonds forged in Nico’s heart are permanent.

The witch that took Dimitri away has returned for Nico. Sebastian must to step up to save his Sire, but the indoctrination of his old Court is hard to overcome. And how can a two-fang stand against a witch who draws power from the Void itself? Nico doesn’t have super speed or healing, all he can do is be clever and pray his disabled body won’t give out on him when Sebastian and Dimitri need him most. Because when it comes to the men in his life, Nico will go beyond what’s possible to save them both.

And breaking a bond will kill them both.
